To all the naysayers who said that I was crazy to travel around Peru with three kids, I say “Hah! It was great!” Seriously, it was an amazing trip full of discovery and adventure. We visited Macchu Picchu, learned a lot about the Incas, stayed with an indigenous family on the floating islands (islands made entirely out of reeds) in Lake Titicaca (at 3,850 meters/almost 13,000 feet, the highest navigatable lake in the world), watched Andean Condors (the largest flying birds in the world with a wingspan of roughly 9 feet) glide right above our heads in Colca Canyon (which is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon), went white water rafting on Class 4 rapids and survived a small hotel fire. It was bonding for us as a family and truly fantastic!
Now we are back to real life and there is so much to do. Many changes are underway for us here and I will tell you about them as things unfold. It will probably take me a week or two to write about our Peru adventures in greater detail so please bear with me. In the meantime, here are a few photos:
