In case some of you have been wondering how all the changes in our life have panned out… Jade, our 10 year old, is happy in her new school. She is making friends and learning alot, which she really enjoys. She continues to play tennis and loves her piano lessons.
Siena, our almost seven year old, really wanted to return to her Waldorf school after a trial period at the new school. We decided to support her in this desire. Her teacher at the Waldorf school is wonderful as is her class. The kids are really sweet and the parents are super involved, especially by Colombian standards (there is not a strong tradition of parental involvement here). She has lots of friends at school and is very happy. She continues to ride horses a couple of times per week, play tennis and swim. She is turning into quite a jock!
Saige, our two year old, is cute as can be and super smart and willful. She knows what she wants and won’t stop until she gets it. Her vocabulary grows daily as do her temper tantrums when she doesn’t get what she wants. Aaah, the patience needed to be with a toddler. She is lucky that she is so cute!
Esteban continues to do well although he is super busy at work. He hasn’t traveled for work in about a month which has been a welcome break. It has been good to have him home!
As for me, I feel like I am just starting to settle into my life after several weeks of many changes. We have decided not to move to Bogota for now since Siena will be staying at this school and we currently live across the street from her school. I feel conflicted about this. On the one hand, I miss living in a city. On the other hand, small town life is really peaceful. We can walk to many places and get around easily. There is no traffic and no worries about safety. Oh, oh, am I losing my edge?
