The last couple of days have been wonderful, difficult and exhausting. It has been wonderful to see friends and pick up like no time at all has passed. People have opened up their homes to us, inviting us over for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has been very difficult to attend the memorial service and feel the loss of Jonnie. It has been exhausting to do all this with three kids while staying in a hotel and maintaining a non-stop schedule in our effort to see as many friends as possible.
As an aside, I have been astounded by the efficiency here! Everything is done super quick! We had breakfast in Panera and I asked the young man who was working behind the counter for a straw. He actually ran to get it even though it was only a few feet away! Oh, how I have missed this!
Meanwhile, Jade is very excited to go back to her Waldorf School tomorrow! And I am very nervous. What if she loves it so much that she doesn’t want to go back to Colombia?
