We are back and suffering a little jetlag but it was worth it because India was amazing! Six weeks of incredible new experiences, warmhearted and extremely welcoming people, delicious (and spicy!) food, gorgeous scenery, immersion in village life and nature, both luscious and stark! Sure, there were a few challenging moments – the poverty and sexism were confronting at times. And don’t even get me started on the chaotic traffic! India, for me, is a microcosm of all of humanity – the glory that humans are capable of creating and the misery as well.
I will write more when I catch up with life here in Colombia (back to work, kids starting school, etc.) but in the meanwhile here are quite a few photos. I came back with nearly 4,000 photos and it was very difficult to whittle them down to just a hundred or so. India and its people are so photogenic! (I also captioned them all but the captions didn’t save for some reason and I am just too tired to do it again.)
